Alissa M. (Doerr) Baier
Alissa was raised on a cattle and corn farm near Creighton, Nebraska with her four siblings. Her career goals have been driven by her desire to retain her rural roots and return to a small community in Nebraska to practice law.
Since third grade, Alissa knew she wanted to be a lawyer. She job shadowed Jan when she was in high school. Little did she know, Alissa would be working for her when she graduated law school.
Alissa graduated with high honors from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln with an undergraduate degree in agricultural economics in May of 2013. She continued her education at Nebraska College of Law and earned her law degree in 2016. During law school, Alissa was on the winning student quiz bowl team at the American Agricultural Law Association Symposium in Charleston, South Carolina. Her favorite law school experience was representing low-income clients, senior citizens, and veterans in an array of legal matters in Civil Clinic.
When Alissa is not practicing law, she likes to help on her family's farm especially during calving season. She also enjoys playing the piano, spoiling her nieces, ice skating, fishing and wakeboarding. And like any true Nebraskan, she loves to cheer on the Huskers!
Alissa’s top five strengths (Gallup, Inc. Clifton Strengths Finder) are achiever, includer, discipline, focus and harmony.
